B&B at it’s finest!
“I absolutely loved staying here. Mr. Chris welcomed us with open arms and initially showed us around the B&B upon arrival and made us feel at home. The welcome port wine was delicious and the room was absolutely cozy. There is ample space in the room. We stayed in the Carolina Suite. Towels are provided. No fridge but there is one for guests downstairs if you need one. While there, we were able to enjoy the outdoor sitting area near firepit as well as relax in the living room. Mr. Chris made us a delicious breakfast each morning. You can tell he takes pride in cooking. What would have made it even better would’ve been a hot tub. I’m just saying but besides that, we had a great experience and I would go back! Great job! So glad I found this hidden gem. :-)” Date of stay: July 2024 Trip type: Traveled with friends
Fantastic Experience!
“We stayed at North Lodge for a family girl’s retreat and it was fantastic! All comforts are considered in the home and rooms. The sheets were so great that I asked for the brand so that I could buy them for my home. It is both quiet, but centrally located. It was just a few minutes drive to downtown, the arts district and the Biltmore. Chris is an amazing host who takes great pride in the breakfasts he serves. In our 3 day stay we had a ham and cheese souffle, pecan and pistachio pancakes with apple butter syrup and a delicious quiche Lorraine – all with beautiful fresh fruit and sides. It is the perfect stay in Asheville, we will definitely be back. Thank you so much!” Date of stay: June 2024 Trip type: Traveled with family
Comfy and Convenient
“The North Lodge on Oakland B&B offered the perfect setting and location for our family girls’ weekend in Asheville. We occupied all but one of the rooms at the B&B, so I was able to see every room at the inn. Each room was spacious, full of character, and provided a comfortable, yet private, refuge. Each room has a full en suite bath and the softest sheets you’ll ever sleep between. The beds felt luxurious as did the homemade top chef-quality breakfasts that kept us so full, we didn’t need to eat again until dinner. When returning to the inn after a long day exploring, the inn’s common areas offered a comfortable gathering place to unwind before sinking into the most comfortable beds. Chris and Myra were wonderful hosts who anticipated our needs and even let us visit their “lodge dogs,” who were very well-behaved. As if we weren’t spoiled enough, we found ourselves just a short drive from town, the Biltmore, and the airport. If you fly into Asheville like I did, try using Uber to get around. It
Loved our stay
“We recently spent 3 nites here in mid- May. It was a wonderful stay from the get go. Chris, the host, met us at the door. He spent a good amount of time explaining the ins and outs. The room was excellent- king size comfortable bed, clean and comfortable bathroom, spacious room with 2 nice armchairs to sit read, a keurig in each room, plenty of outlets, and racks for luggage (we didn’t take the opportunity to try on the soft robes that Chris provides). The breakfasts were excellent, different each morning, and catered to all dietary needs. On our 3rd morning Chris prepared 3 different breakfasts to address individual needs. he common areas were very nice-a relaxed feel with leather and more than enough arm chairs, very comfortable. Another keurig, complimentary cold drinks and candy snacks. I especially enjoyed an evening aperitif of tawny port that he places in a decanter in the dining in the dining room. The location isn’t central, but is nice and quiet, and less than 5 min from town center. Ride services are easily available.
Charming, Clean, Kind Hosts and Great Location
“What a lovely inn and such charming hosts! Loved our 3-night stay. Quaint, super clean historic house in a quiet, safe area and only 10 min from Biltmore and The Grove Park Inn. 3-course breakfasts (soufflés!) homemade by Chris were so filling we skipped lunches. The Library, their smallest room, was charming and quite comfortable. Chris and Myrna were always helpful and offered great suggestions on dining, directions, anything we needed. Thanks so much.” Date of stay: May 2024 Trip type: Traveled as a couple
