Every year, the UNCA campus resounds with the excitement the Southern Conference Basketball Tournament brings. The excitement surrounding the SoCon Tournament is not restricted to the UNCA campus, either! All of Asheville gets involved with special events and activities all around town and throughout the weekend.

Downtown Dribble – Saturday, March 4th, 11am
Asheville’s Pack Square in downtown is the site of the annual Downtown Dribble. Downtown Dribble is 500 or more kids dribbling basketballs from Pack Square to the the U.S. Cellular Center. Cheerleaders, bands, and team mascots will also be on hand. You do NOT want to miss this spectacle. The sound of all that dribbling is fantastic …
Celebrate Asheville Day and Ingles JamFest – Sunday, March 5th, 2 pm to 4:45 pm
Celebrate Asheville is the Southern Conference’s way of thanking Asheville for hosting the Southern Conference Basketball Tournament. Ingles JamFest is an outdoor tailgate party held outside the U.S. Cellular Center. JamFest will feature live music by Lyric and Joe Lasher, along with offerings from local food and beverage vendors.
Hometown Heroes Day – Monday, March 6th, 7 pm to 10 pm
Come honor the people and organizations that help keep us all safe during the final day of SoCon 2017. Members of the military, fire, police, government, education, civil service, and more will be recognized.
