Asheville New Year’s Eve Celebrations
The Biltmore’s New Year’s Eve Gala 2015 starts at 8:30pm in the Biltmore’s Country Club Ballroom and Terrace. The event includes live music, dinner, an open bar, hand-rolled cigars on the terrace, and a champagne toast with fireworks at midnight. For tickets and more info: www.biltmorehotel.com
The Omni Grove Park Inn New Year’s Eve Events – All the Omni Grove Park Inn restaurants will be open and offering various events and specials: The Blue Ridge Artisanal Buffet offers a big New Year’s Eve Buffet and a New Year’s Day Buffet; Elaine’s Dueling Piano Bar has no cover on New Year’s; Vue 1913 and Edison are both offering a special 3-course dinner; and more! Be sure to take a look at the National Gingerbread House Competition while you’re there!
If you prefer to nose-out an event to suit your tastes, simply heading to downtown Asheville on New Year’s Eve is be a great idea. While there is no large, outdoor public event, most restaurants, pubs, and clubs will be hosting their own events and, assuming the weather cooperates, the streets themselves will be a-buzz with celebratory activity and street entertainers.
Tressa’s Jazz & Blues, for example, is a noted Asheville jazz club putting on a New Year’s Eve Bash with live music, a complimentary midnight champagne toast and balloon drop on the dance floor. Doors open at 7pm with an upstairs buffet opening at 8pm.
Pack’s Tavern is hosting a New Year’s Eve Buffet from 6:30pm to 9pm followed by general celebrations and a until 2am with a countdown at midnight.
The Social Lounge is putting together a Silver & Gold Masquerade Ball, complete with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and champagne toast and only a $5 cover.
The Grove House Asheville’s largest gay/LGBT club and best dance club downtown is putting on a New Year’s Eve Bash that brings three clubs – Club Eleven, Scandals, and Boiler Room – together for dancing on three floors with four bars, 5 DJs, balloon drops, party favors, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. 8pm to 3am.
Strada: Discover an Italian tradition of The Feast of the Seven Fishes on New Year’s Eve, 1pm until late.
The Market Place Restaurant hosts a popular New Year’s Eve bash, with live music and an amazing a la carte menu by Chef William Dissen: 5pm to 2am.
Rhubarb: Ring in the New Year with farm to fork dining and late night celebration until 1am.
Lex 18: Enjoy two separate events: A Sentimental Journey – 6-8:30pm. A century of love songs, four-course dinner, and black tie, followed by the Top Hat 1920s Variety Dinner Show – 8:30pm to -1:30am. A five-course dinner, white tie optional, with champagne and dancing.

The Lake Lure New Year’s Day Polar Plunge!
The New Year’s Day, Lake Lure Polar Plunge is a beloved annual event that’s all for a good cause.
