The Montford Music and Arts Festival is the largest one-day music and arts festival in Western North Carolina. This year the festival hits double digits, as this is the 10th year in a row it has taken place. Join in the fun, rain or shine on Saturday May 18, 2013. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. and running till 7 p.m. The festival is free to the public and handicap accessible.
The festival encompasses two tree lined streets in the historic Montford community, about two miles from our bed and breakfast. Most of the homes in Montford were built between 1890 and 1920 and include a variety of architectural influences reflecting the cosmopolitan character of Asheville during this period. Victorian, Queen Anne and Arts and Crafts styles combined with Neoclassical, Colonial Revival and castle-like motifs.
Over 100 vendors of art, crafts, plants, food and children’s activities will be at the festival. Two stages, one on each street, will offer the perfect setting for non-stop entertainment and over 20 bands and musical acts.
Location and Transportation
The festival takes place on Montford Avenue and Soco Streets just down from the Asheville Visitors Center. A special bike corral will be set up again for our many bikers. Parking is available throughout the neighborhood.
