It’s Time for the Asheville Mountain Dance and Folk Festival!

July 17th, 2015 by Corey A. Edwards

Asheville Mountain Dance Folk Festival 2015The 88th annual Asheville Mountain Dance and Folk Festival is right around the corner, scheduled for August 6th through the 8th, 2015!

Asheville’s Shindig On The Green, currently filling the air with the sweet sounds of Southern Appalachian mountain music, Saturday nights from June to September, is but an offshoot of the great-grandaddy of them all, the Asheville Mountain Dance and Folk Festival.

Held since 1928, the Asheville Mountain Dance and Folk Festival brings banjo pickers, sawing fiddlers, dulcimer sweepers, lively dancers, inspired balladeers and more out to perform, enjoy, pass along and keep alive some of the finest folk and mountain music you ever did hear!

In 2015, performers at the Mountain Dance and Folk Festival will take to the stage for the 88th time at the Diana Wortham Theatre at Pack Place in downtown Asheville on Thursday through Saturday, August 6, 7 & 8. Introductions begin at 6:50 pm and shows begin at 7 pm nightly. Click here to buy tickets now through Diana Wortham Theatre.
